Legal & Compliance
Our policies, how we protect your information, and how to exercise your rights or raise a concern.
Our policies
These documents govern your use of Acerstone and how we handle your information:
- Terms of Service: the agreement between you and Acerstone, including acceptable use, confidentiality and how projects work.
- Privacy Policy: what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights, including our use of cookies and local storage.
How we protect your data
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and Acerstone.
- Passwords stored only as salted hashes; most members sign in with LinkedIn or Google instead.
- Signed sign-in tokens, and signature checks on the notifications our providers send us.
- Rate limits on sign-in and other sensitive actions to slow down abuse.
- Administrative access limited to the people who need it to run the platform.
- Knowledge-base items you mark confidential are kept out of everything that is published and out of your digital twin.
Where your data is processed
Acerstone runs on Microsoft Azure and MongoDB Atlas, and uses a small number of specialist providers for AI, scheduling, video calls and email. The full list, and what each one is used for, is in the Privacy Policy. Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States.
AI on Acerstone
AI helps conduct the expert interview, turn interviews and calls into knowledge-base items, review vetting answers, and answer questions through an expert's digital twin. Two rules apply throughout:
- Nothing the AI draws out about you is published until you approve it.
- Your digital twin uses only the items you have approved and switched on for it, and you can turn it off at any time.
Your data rights
You can see and edit your profile and knowledge base at any time from your account. For anything else, such as a copy of your data, a correction, deleting a call recording or transcript, or closing your account and deleting your information, email us and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Write to support@acerstone.com from the email address on your account, so we can confirm the request is yours.
Reporting a concern
- Harmful or abusive content: use the report option on the message, conversation or profile, and our team will review it.
- A security vulnerability: email support@acerstone.com with "Security" in the subject. Please give us a reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it publicly.
- Unauthorised access to your account, or a legal or intellectual-property complaint: email support@acerstone.com.
